Rippers - To create your own MP3 files, you'll need a ripper and an encoder. The ripper takes a song from the CD and turns it into a WAV file, and the encoder converts the WAV file into an MP3 file. Many MP3 products contain both rippers and encoders, such as Audiograbber (or AudioCatalyst) and MusicMatch Jukebox.
