Exact Audio Copy (EAC) is a precise audio extraction tool for CD-ROM drives. Other audio grabbers correct audio "jitter," but CD-ROM drives reading scratched CDs can still produce distortions. Exact Audio Copy reads audio CDs almost perfectly. If there are any errors that EAC cannot correct, it reports the time positions in which (possible) distortion occurred. EAC has a WAV editor that lets you delete, trim, normalize, pad, interpolate ranges, fade selections in or out, remove glitches and pops, and reduce noise. It also includes CD player functionality, an ID3 Tag editor, CDDB support, lyric database support, ability to create CDRWin CUE sheets, functions to help you record from LP or radio, and much more.

Rosoft CD Extractor allows you to rip audio CDs to WAV files and encode them as MP3s. The program features an ID3 tag editor, pitch-shifting capability, full CDDB support, a 12-band equalizer, and support for external encoders. You can select the recording algorithm, and record your audio CDs using the CD Direct Digital Audio (CDDA) protocol. In addition, you can transcribe fast played music using the time stretch function.

Streambox Ripper converts RealAudio files and CD tracks into WAV, MP3 and WMA format. Streambox comes with a built-in 10-line equalizer/amplifier and converter for CDs. It also offers a batch conversion mode, in which all audio files in a specific directory can be converted in one fell swoop. Other features of the program include: G2 support, support for MP3 tags, CDDB support, and support for several sampling rates. This new release adds support for G2 encoding and has a new resampler engine.

WinDAC Home Page

WinDAC (Digital Audio Copy) is an audio utility that allows you to copy audio tracks from CDs into WAV format. You can kill zero-samples at the beginning and end of the converted file, use all recognized CD-ROM drives simultaneously, copy selected tracks to different WAV files, and display information on all tracks. WinDAC gives you full drive control (such as eject and play), shows main drive states, and copies selected sectors of the CD. You can execute a script after copying a track and then compress audio data directly using the Windows audio compression manager. This update supports CDDB access and fixes a few bugs.

Zlurp Home Page

Zlurp is an all-in-one CD audio tool. It rips, encodes, and tags CDs. Even though Zlurp encodes CDs on its own, you can also use a third-party encoder. Zlurp will work with most IDE CD-ROM drives.
